Freshman year if you would have asked me whether I was going to rush a social club, I would have told you that social clubs just weren’t for me. Being a nine on the enneagram and an ISFJ, I am easily drained by big groups of people. However, towards the start of the spring semester of my freshman year, Elizabeth Cluck, a girl who was on the same missions team as me, encouraged me to at least consider joining a social club. Since she was in Delta Omega, she told me about all of the great pals she had made and the fun memories they made together through the club.
Since I was still a little skeptical of social clubs, she introduced me to one of her friends in Delta Omega, Payton Crider. Payton told me about how she was able to juggle a social club, a job, and cheerleading all while pursuing a degree in Biology (with a 4.0 I might add - WOW). Hearing this, I decided that I might as well go through the rush process and just see what happened. I immediately connected with the girls in Delta Omega at open and closed rush and couldn’t wait to get to know them better!
Three years later, I am not only in the club, I get to be treasurer! (I know I know, I’m basically Alexander Hamilton). Anyway, these girls have made such an impact on my life, through kind words, acts of service, and showing me Jesus in so many ways. I am so thankful for the fun, loving, passionate people in this club that constantly encourage me! I cannot wait to see how you are encouraged and loved by these wonderful people, too!
Thanks for reading!
