Why are you in a social club? Are you glad you rushed? Why did you choose Delta Omega?
I get these questions a lot (especially this time a year), and when I first joined the club, I honestly wasn’t sure. I mean, I wanted to be in a social club because it looked like fun, and I was excited to make a bunch of new friends, but that was about it. I never would have expected for a social club to have such an impact on my college experience and who I am as a person.
I have found my people in Delta Omega. This club is filled to the brim with people who have been there for me in my best and worst times. I could go on for hours about the women in this club. They have taught me to be ambitious and strong and gentle and kind. I know it sounds super cheesy, but it’s all so true! I wanted to be in DO because it was made up of girls who I admired and wanted to me like. I can say with absolute certainty that the women of Delta Omega have made me better. They have challenged me and pushed me to be the best I can be while still laughing and dancing the whole way.
One amazing opportunity DO has given me is the privilege to serve as chaplain of the club this year. I never thought I would be an officer in the club, but here I am, and it has been such a blessing to me. I have been able to really see the heart of this amazing sisterhood. Our faith is at the center of the club, and I have loved getting to stand by my sweet friends through their struggles and victories. I have been constantly encouraged by everyone’s love for one another and the Lord.
I am oh so grateful for these girls and their friendships, and I hope you get to know some of my very favorite people.
